At the Northern California Siberian Husky Show

at the Inn Marin in Novato, California, April 26, 2003

What are the differences between the owners of two very different types of dogs -- Pomeranians and Siberian Huskies?  That was the question that led to a research project for an anthropology class on doing ethnographic research.  This section features the photos taken for this project at the Specialty Show and Sweepstakes sponsored by the Northern California Siberian Husky Club on April 26th.  You can also see photos taken at the Northern California Pomeranian Show on April 19th.

Plus see photos of some owners at this show who have been added to our Latest Entrants section.  You'll find them on page 37.  They're being considered for possible inclusion in our Do You Look Like Dog book to be published next year, as well as for the contest.

Siberian Huskies are dogs that are very independent, intelligent, and pack-oriented.  So they can be hard to train and get to obey, though you do best if you gain their respect as "leader of the pack" and convince them they should behave (say because you have a nice reward for them.)   Since they can be difficult, many owners take their dogs to an obedience class -- and here are some owners who began the day trying to show off their dog's best obedience behavior.
